Origin & Inspiration
In 2012, the online Risus community conducted a One Page Challenge: Create an entire setting for Risus that will fit on one page, and is a Non-Victorian Steampunk. I was in a D&D campaign at the time, and as I recall, I had just watched Ghostbusters again recently. Thus was born Gears & Gaslights, a mixture of those two influences. It was alright, but I always felt this particular one page setting deserved more examination.And here I am, 11 years later, finally giving it the full setting treatment. The only real change was to make it clearly Victorian in nature. Otherwise, I just expanded on the idea already put forth.
